When renewing your Nevada state drivers license you will need your identification, and payment for the fees. You will receive an 8-year license with your renewal in 2018 or later. You may be eligible to renew by internet, mail or kiosk. If you were born in an odd-numbered year, you will receive a four-year license at any renewal through 2017. You must renew in person at a DMV office. If you were born in an even-numbered year, you will receive an eight-year license at your next renewal. Nevada is now switching to an eight-year license. You may also be required to pass a driving skills test. You may be required to take written and/or skills tests depending on your driving history. Those born in even-numbered years must renew in person. If you do not meet these qualifications, you must renew in person at a Nevada DMV office. This postcard will let you know if you can renew online or if you need to renew in person at your local DMV office. If your address is up-to-date with the DMV you will receive a postcard notifying you that your drivers license is about to expire. It is important that you renew your drivers license if you want to continue driving legally. In the state of Nevada, your drivers license must be current for you to drive a vehicle.
